Band of Brothers Outdoors is excited to offer a unique opportunity for a disabled U.S. military veteran to travel north of the border for an unforgettable mule deer hunt in Alberta, Canada, with Corbett Creek Outfitters.

Veteran Eligibility & Selection Priority

This event is open to disabled U.S. military veterans.

Because this location and hunt can accommodate veterans with significant physical and mobility disabilities, selection priority will be given to:

• Veterans who are rated 100% Total & Permanent (T&P) disabled

• Veterans with physical disabilities

• Veterans with mobility-related disabilities or limitations

• Veterans who use a wheelchair or other mobility-assistance device

• Veterans whose disabilities make participating in traditional hunting opportunities difficult

This location is capable of accommodating wheelchair users and other veterans with significant mobility limitations. Veterans should not assume that needing a wheelchair, walker, cane, or other mobility device prevents them from applying for this hunt.

Applicants should accurately describe their mobility needs and any accommodations they require on the application. This will allow Band of Brothers Outdoors and Corbett Creek Outfitters to make the necessary arrangements and ensure the selected veteran can safely and comfortably participate.

Veterans with limited mobility will have the opportunity to hunt from accessible ground blinds, while veterans who are physically able may choose a spot-and-stalk hunt.

Meeting the eligibility requirements or receiving priority consideration does not guarantee selection. Final participant selection will be made by Band of Brothers Outdoors based on eligibility, individual needs, available accommodations, and the requirements of this international trip.

Trip Schedule

We will depart for Canada on November 7 around noon, driving to Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, where we will stay overnight. On November 8, we will finish the drive to Fort Assiniboine, Alberta, get settled in, and prepare for the hunt.

A shooting range will be available to sight in rifles before the hunt begins.

The hunt will take place November 9–14, 2026.

The Hunt

This hunt will focus on mule deer and can be tailored to the physical abilities of the selected veteran.

Hunters will have the option to:

• Spot and stalk for mule deer

• Hunt from a ground blind

• Utilize hunting methods and locations better suited for veterans with limited mobility or wheelchair use

The area has an excellent mule deer population, with a high abundance of deer commonly seen throughout the fields. Hunters will be provided an opportunity at a mule deer; however, as with any fair-chase hunt, a harvest cannot be guaranteed.

One of the reasons this hunt is especially important to Band of Brothers Outdoors is its ability to provide a meaningful hunting opportunity for veterans who may have difficulty participating in more physically demanding hunts.

Lodging & Meals

All lodging and meals during the hunt are included. We will be staying at a Christian outdoor center, where each veteran will have their own private room.

The location is able to accommodate veterans with mobility disabilities, including veterans who use wheelchairs. Selected veterans should communicate their specific accessibility needs with Band of Brothers Outdoors before departure so appropriate arrangements can be made.

Expect home-cooked meals, plenty of coffee, and a packed lunch each day while hunting.

Important: This is an alcohol-free facility. Alcohol is not permitted.

Crossing the U.S.–Canada Border by Vehicle

Because this is an international event, all selected veterans must be prepared to legally enter Canada and return to the United States. We will be crossing the border by vehicle as a group.

Participants should be prepared with:

• Valid U.S. passport

• Valid driver's license if they may be driving

• Required firearm documentation

• Hunting and outfitter documentation provided for the trip

• Any other documentation required to legally enter Canada and return to the United States

The vehicle being used for the trip will need current registration and proof of insurance valid for travel in Canada.

Keep passports and other important documents readily accessible when approaching the border rather than packed away in luggage.

What Must Be Declared

When entering Canada, participants must honestly declare anything required by Canadian law.

This includes:

• All firearms and ammunition

• Alcohol and tobacco

• Food, meat, animal products, and certain agricultural products

• Cannabis or cannabis products

• Currency or monetary instruments totaling CAN$10,000 or more

• Other restricted or controlled items

Do not bring cannabis across the international border, even if it was legally purchased in a U.S. state where cannabis is legal.

Because we are traveling specifically for a hunting trip, participants should be prepared to answer questions about where we are going, how long we will be in Canada, where we are staying, the purpose of the trip, and the firearms and ammunition being transported.

Criminal History & Canadian Admissibility

Anyone with a DUI, felony conviction, or other criminal history that could make them inadmissible to Canada should not apply unless they have already confirmed that they are legally admissible to enter Canada.

Canadian admissibility laws differ from U.S. laws, and certain past criminal offenses—including some DUI convictions—can result in a person being denied entry.

We cannot risk arriving at the border and having a member of the group turned away, potentially delaying or jeopardizing the trip for everyone.

Firearms – Crossing From the United States Into Canada

Canada has firearm laws that are different from those in the United States. A firearm being legal in the United States does not automatically mean it is legal to bring into Canada.

For this hunt, participants should plan on bringing a Canada-legal, non-restricted hunting rifle appropriate for mule deer.

Do not bring:

• Handguns or pistols

• Firearms classified as prohibited in Canada

• AR-style or other rifles classified as prohibited in Canada

• Prohibited magazines, firearm parts, or devices

• Any firearm or accessory unless you have confirmed that it is legal in Canada

If there is any question about whether your firearm is legal in Canada, it must be verified before departure.

Declaring Your Rifle at the Canadian Border

Every firearm must be declared when entering Canada.

A U.S. resident who does not possess a Canadian firearms licence will generally need to complete the RCMP 5589 Non-Resident Firearm Declaration.

The declaration should not be signed until instructed by the Canadian border officer.

Once the declaration is confirmed and the applicable CAN$25 fee is paid, the confirmed declaration serves as a temporary Canadian firearms licence for the firearms listed on it for up to 60 days.

Participants should have the following information readily available:

• Make

• Model

• Type

• Caliber

• Barrel length

• Serial number

Failure to properly declare a firearm can result in seizure of the firearm and additional penalties.

Transporting & Storing Firearms

For this trip, Band of Brothers Outdoors will require the following firearm transportation practices:

• All rifles must be completely unloaded while being transported.

• Rifles should be transported in a locked, hard-sided gun case.

• A trigger lock or cable lock is strongly recommended as an additional safety measure.

• Firearms should remain out of sight whenever possible.

• Vehicles containing firearms must be properly secured when unattended.

• Ammunition must be transported securely.

• No loaded firearm will be permitted in a Band of Brothers Outdoors vehicle.

Every participant is responsible for ensuring their firearm, ammunition, magazines, and accessories comply with Canadian law before departure.

Bringing Your Harvest Back to the United States

Following a successful hunt, arrangements will be made with a butcher to properly process and prepare the meat for legal transportation back into the United States in accordance with applicable Canadian and U.S. regulations.

An Opportunity Designed for Disabled Veterans

This hunt is specifically intended to provide an opportunity for disabled veterans, including those who may not be able to participate in a traditional, physically demanding mule deer hunt.

Veterans who use wheelchairs or other mobility devices are strongly encouraged to apply.

The hunting location and accommodations allow us to consider veterans with significant physical and mobility limitations who might otherwise believe a Canadian mule deer hunt is out of reach.

Priority consideration will be given to veterans who are 100% Total & Permanent disabled and veterans with physical or mobility-related disabilities, including wheelchair users.
