We are teaming up with Nomad Outfitters LLC to offer a spring snow goose hunt in South Dakota. Hunting will be on March 25th and 26th and lodging will be provided on Wednesday and Thursday nights. Guide service will provide decoys, blinds, callers, guides, dogs, transportation of guns and gear to and from the field.
Location will be determined based on the snow line but we will more than likely be staying between Yankton, SD and Huron, SD. Exact location could be determined a week out from the hunt.
Veterans will be required to have all their appropriate South Dakota hunting Licenses. The spring snow goose license is available over the counter to anyone. The spring snow goose license is around $50 to purchase. Veterans will also be responsible for providing their own safe and fully functioning shotguns and ammo for the hunt. Recommended ammunition is any type of 3 inch steel shot, we recommend BB or 2 shot size. Make sure it is steel shot no lead is allowed for waterfowl in South Dakota. Weather patterns can change at any time in the spring in South Dakota. Please bring any type of warm camo clothes, warm boots, heavy socks etc. Style or pattern does not really matter. We will most likely be hunting from an A frame blind sitting in director style chairs.
Arrival in the field will be around 5-6am and hunt until 11 or 12 for a mid-day break until around 2-3pm where we will hunt the afternoon flight. Lunch will be served out in the field, sack lunch style and supper will be provided at a local establishment that is near the area we are hunting.
You will need to provide a cooler for the transportation of your birds. Nomad Outfitters LLC will clean the birds leaving a wing on for legal transport and will provide bags and package them up for everyone to take home.
